We are learning to write facts.
Today we are learning to write facts. We are reading a book about water boatman, crazy little insects that live in water.
Miss Gormly went on a bush walk down to the stream to see if she could see any. She didn't find any but she discovered a few other interesting things along the way.
Our writing challenge is to write some facts about water boatman. Here is Toko's.

Our Fire Fighter Stories
Hifo has recorded her story using Explain Everything.
The fire fighters have stuff on the fire truck. They have a crow bar and cones and they have a hose in the fire truck. They have ladders on the back of the truck. They help people if they crash or if they get stuck in the house. If there is a fire in your house get down, get low and get out fast to a safe meeting place. They wear gloves, coats, a helmet, gas mask and a tank bottle.
By Toko
We saw a hose. It was cool. We got fire fighters stickers. I love fire fighters.

A Visit From Fire Fighters
Today our Panmure Fire Fighters came to school to teach us about fire safety and what fire fighters do to help the community.
We have been doing lots of learning about fire wise so it was a great opportunity to ask the fire fighters questions.
What is your whanau's safety plan in the event of a fire?
What are the escape routes?
Will your whanau meet at the mail box? Where would be a good meeting place?
Remember... if there is a fire... get down, get out and stay out!

Welcome To Medical School
Our topic this week is jobs.
To learn about jobs and how to do them we have been going to Tamaki University.
Today we went to Medical School to learn how to be doctors.
We learned the names of our bones and found out why bones are important.
We made two bodies out of play dough, one with bones (straws) and one without. The one with bones was much stronger and could sit up. The one without bones was floppy and couldn't sit up.

The Faces In Room 2
As part of our Oral Language Programme we had to follow instructions on how to create a face using different kinds of lines, patterns and shapes. We discovered what vertical, horizontal and parallel lines were. We had to draw curved lines and connect lines together.
It was hard following instructions but we did it and the results were amazing. Each of our pictures is unique, special in their own ways...just like us.
