This week we have been celebrating Vaiaso o le Gagana Samoa, Samoan language week.

William, Toko and Puanesi learned how to great each other in Samoan. This is the video they made.

This week we have been reading the book Grandma's Vase.

First we read the story. Then we sequenced the parts of the story, matching the text to the pictures.

In the story the little girl makes a vase for her Nana using things from the recycling bin.
We decided to also create something from objects in the recycling bin.

Ani and Rakeena's sea bird after a discussion about seabirds and the fact that they eat fish not worms.

This is Elijah and Cohens water tank after talking about the drought that we are having and how Miss Gormly drinks rain water from her water tank.

Cohen's Lever

 Cohen, Leanne and their Dad made this fantastic level. They put a bolt through the middle to make a fulcrum. It moves up and down like a seesaw. 
Cohen showed us how it can also become a ramp for his car to go down.

Our topic this week is construction.

Toko made a video to show us his hut. He used positioning words like front, back, inside and outside to describe what his hut is like.
